Western Australia

2 others to add to the crew at Kroombit:
Athena Jinxy was a ledgend. Beth and I spent all our time with her when she got here. She bought a car and we painted it together. We log roll down hills together when im hungover.
Honey Bear  (Don't really know him by his real name he was just always honey Bear...umm its ...Barry) Pretyy much a big teddy bear. His mom came out to visit for a week Momma Bear.

So here is the grand adventures of Beth and I on the west coast.
It all started at Kroombit whe Beth and I were talking about it. We were debating doing it for a while and finally manned up and bough the tickets. We flew out of Rockhampton on Dec 3rd. Athena drove us to the airport while was nice cosidering its a 2 hour drive from Kroombit. So the 2 of us hoped o the plane not knowing what was ahead of us, other then the fact that we were renting a campervan for 20ish days. So we flew into Perth and got there at night on the Dec 3rd. Stayed there and had heaps of fun on the second night. Met this girl named Becky and had a blast. We went for dinner (we were going to have cereal but Beth accidently put it on the free food shelf and of course someone jacked it right away, but this lead us to our grand adventures that night) We went to a little bar where there was a live band playing older country dancing music and there were all these old couples just giving'er. Amazing t watch, they had so much energy and personality. After we headed to another little bar where there was a live band and the guy kept asking us for requests. He was halarious and really reminded me of Adam Macdougall. Comedian in the making. We danced a bit there and then back to the hostil for some more dancing and pool contest. We visied Rottness Island, which is breath taking, but we got attacked by heaps of flys, which for some reason just want to go in your eyes, mouth, noe, and ears. If they took these flys awy it would be heaven on earth We sarted up the coast on the 5th. Stopping at the pinnacles (large rock formations coming out of the ground surrounded by sand) Google it. It crazy cool. We were there at sun set aswell. Camped that night at a Caravan park, like most the other nights to come. Just felt safer, cosidering it was just the 2 of us in the middle of nowhere usually. Just driving up the coast was breathtaking. We stopped at Shark Bay and had a night out with the locals, which were a bit special, we did Kareoke. Beth and i did "gives you hell" and "our song" and i did a duo with the singer that was playing his guitar earlier tht night "Grease combo of songs". Drove to Monkey Mia for the dolphin feeding and from there we went to coral bay and met 4 Kiwi lads on the beach, had a couple drinks them and all became best friends and hung out for the next night, day and night together. They were good fun and entertaining. We snorkeled the Ningaloo Reef during the day, which was crazy breathtaking. Saw fish, coral, and an eel. Really really friken amazing. We then headed to Exmouth and at night saw turtles laying eggs on the beach. They were huge and there were loads of them. Then we went to Karijini National Park. It was stuning the cliffs and the waterfall we went to. But it was like 40 degrees and so many flys we couldnt go out of the van, but couldnt stay in cause the heat. I ended up sleeping on the roof of the van cause i was so hot. It was the worst sleep ever, but we made it through the night. We then drove to Broome, I perfect sized city. Did some surfing! It had beena while but by the end of the day I was picking it up again. Had some geat rides!! Tryed to see the sun set but missed it, hung out in the pool during the days and the beach, and did some driving round the city. Have to end the blog for now, finish updating later.
Its been a while but here is a brief bit to catch up on my travels:

So Kroombit Life: Its been amazing here. So much to tell you. This will be confusing but Im sure you will enjoy it. Underlined will be all there two way names (walkie talkie names). First off the people here are amazing. The guy running the place is named Al Boss cocky. He is really nice. Treats us all like grand children. Always giving us hugs and joking around and giving us johnny red whiskey (I accept it even though I don't really enjoy it, just to be polite ;) ) He is married to Carol, who will talk your ear off, but I like it. They take good care of us. Its believed that I came from Alaska (simple mistake made by Ian). There were many backpackers that came and went during my stay on the farm. Here is a little update on them. Beth Fire Stick (ive really clicked with, she took over in the kitchen as the other kitchen lady, Wendy left for another cattle station) We always watch movies in our campervan that we shared and do artsy things together. Ian Honky Tonk is a big joke, but really funny. Him and Timmy (although I always call him Tommy and his real name is Paul but had been given the name Harry before he got here cause no one knew his real name) dressed up as ladies the other night. Called themselves Irene and Tina. This was for Andys birthday (married to Kerry Wedge tail with 2 kids Kayla and Jesse)(this couple is great, Andy Dream time reminds me of Kerry smith from home. Kerry (wife) reminds me of you sometimes mom. Ashley Smash is good fun. Cute little blond always something fun to do. Kat Johnny Red knows everything... usually works with the school kids when they come in. Always happy. Adam Demo is so funny. Everyone jokes how he always complains, which he does but I really like him. Pretty mellow and always has sweets which he shares with me. Chris Boomerang is really quiet but nice none the less. Really good at cracking whips (i suck, but am improving). He is dating Ciara Babalon is Irish and pretends she is scared of me, I think its a joke cause we just always joke about it. She is here with Tricia who is also Irish. She is a sweetheart and proposed to me the other day because she had a girl crush on me. Apparently cause I ride a motorbike she thinks its hot. Gabby Wringger  s the bosses bitch, she just took over for Ashley as i was leaving. Shes gret at singing, its been said she has the voice of an angel. Josh was fun to work with. Reminds me of a little kid. Grant Beans  never wakes up on time and is always late to make the beans for the bakpackers. Hilary Eyebrow  had crazy eyebrows when she lifted them up. Don't know how she could raise them so high. Julia was the cutest thig ever. German and we would always go swimming in the pool together and goof around and exercise. Sabrina Iron Lady was always giggly. Had mad muscles and was amazing at fixing fences. Helene Candy had the cutest little voice and from Denmark. She always would pick up when mom called at lunch and talk to her so she didnt have to wash up the dishes. Steffi Angus has been there for years. She is lovely to work with. Makes me giggle at the things she says and how she says them. There are others working here aswell, Mostly Australians who have been here for forever. But those are the main people. Oh and Brent Cowboy who works in the kitchen at night. I love him. He lets me eat whatever I want. Saying the more you eat the more you get paid. HAHA. I finally got a two way name Bike Crash/ Bicycle. The story behind it: It was Smashs birthday which was pirates of the caribean themed, we were all dressed as pirates. So long story short: We were doing a scavenger hunt, And i decided it was a good idea to hop on my bike so I could petal faster and find the clues. All was well, but i had forgotten that we had been building a fence over by the caravans. So there i am going as fast as buzz lightyear and ....  BAAMMM!!! I run full on into the logs. I was told I did a full on flip over the handle bars and the bike landed on top of me. At this Point honey Bear runs over t see if I'm okay and I reply "don't worry about me, go find the clue" And thats that story. Bruises and no dignity left but i imerged from the accident learning not to ride my bike while intoxicated. And that was all the crazy people i worked with for the past 3 months who i have become so close with.

Okay now ill go over the animals. The are tons of pets here... So here I go. To start there is Boss. A cockatoo who I would place at the top of the animal kingdom. He talks a bit.. Hello, Toast, Hello Boss, Peanut Butter, and he said scratch me the other day, i swear. He eats peanut butter on toast for breakfast and anything else he can get through the day. He usually will sit on your hand, but some days decides to bite you instead. He also drinks out of beer cans. There is Milee the new born cow who thinks shes a dog. Really cute. There are a couple dogs. Sassy (really well trained), Dog (a one year old puppy with heaps of energy), Freddie an old dog who is def and blind (disappeared a month ago and didnt come back, must be in doggy heaven), and Puppy (who you dont see much but when you do he looks scared also getting older, shes adorable). There is Darkness/ Nessy, the baby Roo. So small, fed by a bottle started out about the size of a big rat and is now the size of a small dog. I feed her all the time. Her mom was hit by a car. There is James a cow who thinks hes a goat who always hangs out with the goats. He is no longer. We got short on beef, There is Aussi an Emu. Cant remember the story something about the mom leaving it. Otherwards there are heaps of Horses(around 100) and cows (1200).

What Ive been doing: Everything. You dont really just get one job around here, everyone does everything pretty much. Ive been in the kitchen, raking, quad tours, horse tours, cleaning toilets and bathrooms, washing dishes, doing rubbish run, doing whips bull and games at night, dessert, and many other things. All of it isnt that bad though. And your usually doing it with other people so it makes it fun. There is a swimming pool here, i spent all my spare time in it. Ive hiked up to sunset hill to see the sunrise that never came because it was too claudy, taken Milee the cow for a walk with the dogs, saw the bush fires they have been lighting, gone to rodeo where we lasso goats, ridden in the back of Andys truck driving around and listening to country music getting firewood... and the list goes on. Everyday we dress as cow boys and girls. Hat, bandanna and plade(spell check) shirts. Its really great fun. The farm was such a great experience and eally tough to leave but we had to continue our other crazy adventures.

For my birthday on the farm we decided to dress like cave women and men, It was great fun.

What else. The weather is usually hot during the days and nights now aswell. Ive seen heaps of red bellied black snake. One of the most dangerous snakes. We ate on of them one night, it was actuall really good tasting. Kind of like salty chicken rib or something. I used to live in a little room by myself attached to 5 other rooms with the other staff. I ended up moving into a caravan with beth because we spent all our time together anyways so it seemed logical. I actually had space to put my stuff. Drawers and a closet. So amazing. A little heater/air con and fridge.Ive been taking lots of pictures and videos that you will see when I come home. They are halarious. I think you guys would really love this place.

Not sure what else to write about at Kroombit. So ill leave it there for now and if you have more questions let me know and ill write you back.

Love you all to the moon and back. LOVE LOVE Jess. <3 <3 <3
More to come on Western Australia!!

So I left working on the boats to meet up with Kelly in Brisbane. Hard to leave the Whit sundays and all my friends cause they were all so amazing. So I flew down to Brisbane. Got off the plane then realized I had no clue where to go. Walked around inside, outside, back inside., found a lady and asked "where do i go to find out how I can get to the place I want to go?" Really stupid question but I didnt know how to work it any better. So she directed me to the bus terminal where they do shuttle buses to hostils. How convinient! So i make it to the hostil and start checking in when I hear someone running towards me. And sure enough Kelly is wrapped around me! I was so happy and excited and a little emotional! So overwhelmed, but in a good way. She was wearing a Tee Shirt that said Canadian drinking Team and handed me one!! I was number 1 and she was number 3. She said she just liked that number. So she walks me back to her room and I ask which bed is hers and she points to the one around the corner which happens to have KERRY ANDERSON (best friend if you don't know her)  LYING FACE DOWN WEARING THE NUMBER TWO CANADIAN DRINKING TEAM SHIRT!! I COMPLETELY LOST IT. NOT REALLY SURE WHAT HAPPENED FOR THE NEXT 30 MINS OTHER THEN THE PART ON VIDEO (yes they got a video) I WAS SCREAMING FIRST THEN I THINK I KEPT SAYING F NO, F NO... THEN OHH MAN OHH MANN!! THEN I COULDNT BREATH. THEN I MAY HAVE STARTED CRYING AND LAUGHING AND SCREAMING AND HUGGING HER. (still not really believe this was happening< wait till you see the video, you"ll understand then) (and yes all of this has to be in caps cause i was that excited) AND THIS JUST KEPT REPEATING FOR A WHILE. About an hour after I would say I kind of composed myself. Still don't know how i didnt realize she was coming, beacuse apparently everyone at home knew. Good on you guys for keeping it a secret! Best surprise of my entire life. Don't think much more could beat that! So we went to Byron Bay together (although they had jsut gone there the two of them the day before, it was something we ahd to do all together!!). Byron was amazing as usual. I tried teaching them how to surf which was great fun. And I was able to surf again! Which I had been missing since living on an island. From Byron Bay we headed backto Brisbane for a night then off to Noosa. In Noosa they went down to the Australia Zoo ( I had already been and its expensive)  and I went on a coastal and rainforest walk with a girl named Alexis we met in our room. It was amazing. We were constantly looknig for Koalas (which we never found) that by the end of the walk our necks hurt so bad! Though we did find a Goanna (google it) which I almost steped on which looking for a koala. There about 2 and a half feet long. The next day I took Kelly and Kerry on the same walk because it was so gorgeous. After Noosa we headed to Rainbow beach just for the night. Didn't really have time to do much there. Then we made out way to 1770/Agnes Waters and did Scooter Roo (its a tour on Scooters that have been made to look like little choppers) It was fun to get back on a so called bike but sketchy to be around so many people who have never riden in there life. People cutting you off everywhere. I think the 3 of us were a little ... aggrivated by the end of the trip. But it was a beautiful ride none the less. From there we headed to my long lost home Airlie. I was so happy to be back. And I got to see every one from the island again. The first night everyone was in Airlie for Bens birthday. One fo the days we did a day trip out to the reef for snorkeling and to go to white haven. It was so hard to actually pay for a trip since I never had before because I was the host on the boat. But it was well worth it. The food on the boat we went on was great and it was a really nice boat aswell. We would have gone on my boat but it wasnt going out the days we were there. So now I fianlly had to say my goodbyes to Cissi (Who I had been with since February) and Glen ( My deck hand who I had been with constantly for a month and a half). So I miss them heaps but hopefully will see them again, fingers crossed! After spending a few days in Airlie we went to Magnetic Island. Gorgeous place. Stayed there for 2 nights. Did some hikes, snorkeling, went for a run and some swims, saw some Wallabies (they look like little kangaroos) and saw some turtles. I won 10 free nights at a hostil called base which is located all over Australia in a dance competition. Loads of fun. The first participated aswell and won free drinks. From there we went over to Mission beach. Not a whole lot there but we did go WHITE WATER RIVER RAFTING, WITH WAS LEGIT! Probably the best thing I paid for in Australia! The three of us had such a blast. Doing all this crazy stuff. I think Im hooked and will have to go at home for sure! Got some really funny pictures. Im sure one of the girls will post them on Facebook really soon. So crossed that one off my list of 50 things and more things to do before I die. So we finally made it to Cairns (our destination). There we went out on a boat and did SCUBA DIVING (okay this and rafting tie for best thing to do in Australia). We started snorekling for the first 25 mins waiting for our turn to go out to the reef scuba diving. Then went Scuba diving for like half an hour. And it was amazing. Felt like Ariel. Saw NEMO!!! but the best experience. So be able to stay under water. And the coarals and fish were amazing! So colourful and bright and awesomely shaped. There was this one fish that wsa black and probably almost my size swimming right beside us. And the water was super clear. Until my googles started to fog up. And there wasnt really anything I could do. But could still see. Pheww! After scuba diving we went to Green isalnd for a little then back to the boat and did more snorkling. So this was the girls last night before they were gonig to fly back to Brisbane. And we had a big night planned out, but then I got the flu... erghh. No fun so I ended up saying goodbyt to them in the worst state possible I think. But I had the best time ever with them. Im sure they will tell you even more stories but i dont have the time to write them all. Still can't believe they both came all the way to see me. BEST FRIENDS EVER!! They totally made my trip. So they left and I managed to get work at a Cattle station called Kroombit (uits where backpackers go to get the "farm experience") So ill be getting there in a weeks time. Before hand thoguh I met up with some people and were going to do a road trip to Cape Tribulation and Port Douglas and Townsville. Them im going to bus down to Rockhampton where the farm is and they are going to continue there trip. So super happy everything has fallen into place once again. Cause before the girls were leaving I had no clue what I was going to do! But all is well. I will update you soon about the road trip and the farm. Much love. Jess♥

So I am still working on the boats. And its still great fun. I finally got my first day off today!! WOO WOO! Finally! I really needed it. Ive been working staight from the 30th of June. So its nice to relax for a bit. We were doing 3 trips a week so pretty much we would pick people up on monday at 2 till Wednesday at 1, drop them off and pick up a new group on Wednesday at 2 and drop off on Friday at 1. Pick up Saturday at 2 and drop off Monday at 1 and start all over again. So I literally got one night off a week. So really really long days (usually from 6am till 9pm). But its crazy how many amazing people I have met. Although you do get the rude drunks, but I guess its all part of the whole experience. Last night we celebrated one of the girls birthdays from Airlie that I've met through Glen (the deck hand). Really nice girl. We went to her place and made cocktails with Watermelon, orange juice, lime, ice and vodka. Really yummy. The weather here is amazing at the moment. Had a bit of clouds for a couple days but back to blue skys now. Other then the trips havent been doing much else. Filippa left to go travel on her own. So its just Cecilia and myself now, with my Kelly coming to visit me soon! Talked to her on Skype this morning for about an hour. Can't believe she is actually coming. Its crazy. I'm going to have heapd of fun with her. Can't wait. But my time is up on the internet. Update you soon ♥

So I've been staying at the resort for about a week and a half now. And a couple days ago I found out that I'm going to be the host on the sailing boat that does the sailing trips to White Haven beach/ snorkeling... ect. So I just finished my first trip yesterday. And it was so much fun. Not the best weatehr but it didnt even matter. Saw so many things and had heaps of fun with all the people on the boat. I have another trip im leaving for in about an hour. So pretty much the trip is a 3 day 2 night excursion. We leave at about 2pm on the first day and sail over to the island. I take them for a bush walk then we eat dinner then do some drinking games and so forth. Kareoke has been really popular. On the second day we sail to White Haven beach, eat some luch then sail to Glen and Simons (the boat crew) secret snorkeling spot. Then head back to the resort. On the third day we sail out to do some more snorkeling then drop them back off in Airlie beach. Its pretty much the sickess job someone can have! And I get paid for it.  AHAH Bonus! Being on the boat is sick. I pretty much pull on ropes when they tell me to, They let me drive when they are busy, I keep people entertained, clean here and there, make some lunch, and enjoy the trip. Im having so much fun its unbelievable. Last night I stayed in Airlie beach to celebrate Canada day! And man was it fun. There was a bar where the owners are Canadian so they had a big party there. I still have "I am canadian" writen on my legs and it wont come off. So many Canadians. Its cool that even half way across the world we still get together and celebrate for our country. Hopefully everyone else had an amazing time! But I must go and catch my boat back to the island! I love everyone. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

So a big update I guess, lots has been happening. So I was in Noosa the last time I posted looking for work. Well we found work on an Island in the Whit sundays. Its called Koala Adventure Resort. So we had a week to get there. So Fill and myself went and did a 3 day Fraser Island tour which left the day we found out about the jobs. So really last minute in the moment type of thing. Cecilia went down to Surfers Paradise to meet up with a friend for the weekend. So the 2 of us had a mazing trip and saw so many beautiful things. Ship wrecks, whales, silica sand, Lake Mackenzie (google), Dingos (they look like little dogs but apparently they are vicious, so I didn't go cuddle witht them), we ate pippies which we found on the beach, had campfires and ate tons of marshmellows... And some other stuff. Beautiful place but super cold at night. Lucky I had Filippa bear hugging me all night! After fraser we headed up to 1770 for a night to meet up with our friend Natalie from surf camp and Cecilia. Had tons of fun there. Nats a firecracker and had bought ships and dip and every thing for Cecilias birthday, which was the next day. So we partied with her the first night then the next night we took the night bus to Airlie beach (the mainland from where our work is). That night we celebrated Cecilias birthday with real (yes this is really rare..) red wine, dark chocolate, bubbles (the ones kids play with) and presents. Now the best part was dinner. We made the mosta amazing dinner a backpacker has ever eaten. Im sire everyone was looking at us eat and thinking of ways to steal our food, while drooling. So we made some really good chicken breasts with amazing greek salas and taziki and baguette and sundried tomatoes! Oh man it was so so soooo yummy!! Im drooling just thinking about it! Now the monster in my belly is hungry. But anyways... So we took a ferry to the Island (South Molle Island) that were working on. The resort is called Koala Adventure Island (no there are no Koalas on the island, incae you were wondering). And man is it beautiful. we kept getting closer and closer I was thinking, "holy monky titties" this place is beautiful, how did i manage to get a job here!! Google the place and you will see what I mean. BLUE blue water, fishies, turtles, palm trees, sun, Mountains to hike, Corals to snorkle. Just amazing. So Yesterday they let us go on the sail boat to go to Whit Heaven beach (google it) and snorkeling with the clients. It was great we saw a whale!! So cool. aparently others saw a sea cow but I missed it. Great trip. So fun sailing. "Im on a boat and its going fast anddddd.." So for work.. They have placed me in the bar! SICK AS! My dream come true! But I may be moved to another position so ill let you know. Im off to eat. YUM. Byt eh way there is no internet and barely any reception, so no I have not disappeared off the planet, abducted by aliens, just on a island. And will update you as soon as I can. Stay Sweet! LOVE

Yesterday we started our morning off brigth and early with a yoga class. Mom you would be proud!! Its been a while since I've done it but it felt great afterwards. It was a pretty tough class. Afterwards I watched round 6 for hockey. It was great because the swedish guy working at the hostil wanted to watch it (because of the Sedins) aswell to we streamed it. I only watched the first two periods. Sucky game but nice to finally see some hockey!! Im gonig to try and find a pub to watch the game tomorow in. We also went and lay on the beach, which is the first time in like ever!! Got some sun and relaxed. Today I was calling around looking for jobs and I think we found one for the 3 of us on Fraser Island at a resort. Still waiting to hear back from the lady but sounded pretty promising! Now I'm all anxious. Ill keep you guys informed. Love you all!!

Monday, June 13, 2011

So our visit in Mooloolaba was great. We pretty much had free guided tours by Hunter and his friend Kate. We stayed in there university accomodation. Squishy but it was free. The 3 of us kind of took over. The first night we were there we had a BBQ and played some pool. Girls Vs Guys. Surprisingly the girls won both games. Though I have to admit I didnt get any of the pool balls in. I swear at one point in life I had some skill, but its gone now. Ill have to practise on that. The next day we had a BIG day at the Zoo. Spend the full day there. Hunter is an advid Zoo member so he took us all around telling us little facts about all the animals which was very nice, otehrwards we wouldnt have known anything!! That night for dinner we made Tacos and watched Hot Rod and The fighter. The 2nd day we climbed Mt. Coolum (208m I looked it up) Haha not so impressive compared to Grouse or anything, but still a pretty good hike. And it had an amazing view of all the city and the ocean. We then drove to Dikie beach and saw a ship wreck then had Thai food for dinner and really really good Gelato. So we decided to keep the activities gonig and hiked around Kondalilla national park. SUCH AND AMAZING PLACE! So beautiful. Its a rainforest and it had a huge waterfall in the middle. Took plenty of pictures. One day they will make it to facebook but I have no way of getting them there for a while. Afterwards we watched the Crocodile Hunter and How I Met Your Mother. Man do they ever pick on us Canadians in that show. So funny. People are actually asking me if all the stereo types are true, and so far none are. Unless anyone else knows of some naked weather girl in canada. But personally I've never heard of her. The last day before we caught our bus we headed to the Plaza Shopping Mall, which is actually located on a river. Like the river goes through (under)  the Mall. really cool. Bought only stuff I needed... Starting to get better at that. The best part of this day was trying to fit 4 people, 3 surf boards and 3 big traveling backpacks in Kates small little car... But we did it. Tight squeeze, got some funny photos.

The ride to Noosa was short. Were staying at the Dolphin Beach House (a little hostil). The first nigth here we watched the sun set while eating our dinner on the beach. It was a nice welcoming. Were currently looking for work here. So hopefulyl something pops up. I applied at a motorcycle dealership, really missing the industry, but I havent heard back from them. The weather finally cleared up today and it was beautiful. We had been watching movies inside during the nights to get out of the rain (well it was sprinkling). Weve been gonig for runs and walks and eating really really tasty healthy food. Its a nice change. Maybe get rid of the famous spot X baby. Skyped home with my family and the Smiths yesterday which was lovely to see everyone. Then today with Kelly and the fam and Kerry Anderson and Uncle Owen. Nice to chat with everyone and get updated!! I miss everyone soo soo soo Much!! Ill keep you guys updated! Love you all!!

Sunday, June 5, 2011

So to continue for last time.. We were just in surfers Paradise. Stayed there for 4 nights. The first day we took it pretty easy. Tired from Byron. The next night we were going to see a live band playing at a casino with a bunch of teh people from the Hostil but once we got there they wouldnt accept Cecilias Id card, because it wasnt an actual drivers license. So we bused back and hung out in the hostil. The next night Cecilia and myself went out to girls night which was tons of fun. Filippa was feeling sick so she stayed in that night but wrote us a list of things we had to do. Each thing on the list got you a different amount of points. It was really fun. Met a bunch of people doing all this crazy stuff. And we also needed photo proof. So got some funny pictures. A couple days later we added up the points and I won by 5!! So happy! It was heaps of fun. Still edont know what I won though! During the days in Surfers, we walked around, I got my hair cut, we did some shopping, ate food and so forth. The last night we swaped hostils because we got broken into at the prior one. Fill and Cessi both got $150 dollars taken. So we didnt want to stay there any longer. The owner of the hostil was really nice about it though. He took us out for lunch, gave us a tour of surfers and to this really bug shopping center and we walked around there for a while then he gave us food for dinner and some cupcakes for dessert. He was really nice and it was nice to see more of the city.

We are now currently in Brisban, got here on thursday. It a great fun city. We went out the first night to like 5 different bars. There so many in such a small area. Took a ferry during the day in the river. It was about 1 and a half hours. Really beautiful and it was just before sunset which made it even more amazing. Weve went and watched The Hangover 2 on friday. When we got to the cinema, it was sold out till the later show and we had 2 and a half hours to kill so we wentr to see what we could find. We found this little market thing which reminded me of the chinese night market but way smaller. Sat by this really cool pond (later found out it was a pool) and we were going to go on the faris wheel but ti was to expensive. The movie was great. Reminds us of some of our nights. HAHA. the next day we did a bunch of tourist things. Went to a beautiful church, went for a walk back to the market area, went to the museum of modern arts, and got a coffee and walked around the botanicle gardens with one of Cissis friends from back home. Today we lounged around for a long time then finally went and walked to the river and got lunch on the board walk. Had a free roast dinner tonight at the hostil... It was pretty lame. It might have filled up a small child, so i think were going to get something a little later on.
Oh and to update you guys on my funny stories: both of these stories happened yesterday, totally not one of my brightest days, ill tell you that. So to start off: I bought superglue so that I could glue the foot pad on my surf board back on... But the other day my shoes started falling apart so I decided to glue them back together.. all went well. then I decided to try and glue Filippas necklace back together, but when I squeezed the tude of glue it went all over my right hand. So i freaked out, ran tot he bathroom and tryed getting my ring off.. It took a while but it finally came off. i was running my hands under water, with soap. Such a a scary situation. There was glue all over my hands though. Its almost all off today. So you would think the night wouldnt get any worse... right?
So funny story number 2. I went in MY bed around 1am last night and fell asleep. And was woken up at 5 am by the girl from the bed beside me poking me saying I was in her bed... And sure enough when I finally came to it I was. I have no clue how I got there but ti was so funny. Like I must have slept wealked. Luckily she thought it was funny aswell. But still I was so confused at the situation.

So I'm off to Mooloolaba in the sunshine coast tomorow. Gonna be visiting my friend Hunter who I met at the surf camp. Should be fun. Were also going to be meeting up with Izzy, a girl we worked with at the surf cmap. Can't wait to go surfing again. Love you lots. Pictures soon to come on Facebook I believe.

More adventures..

I havent updated ina while so i'll sum up what I've been up to. So the last week at spot X was amazing like usual. We had some waterfront nights( which you get when you get grom of the week). I had one aswell as Cecilia so we had some fun in those. We fianlly got through the full Hot Rod movie. They now understand my world a little bit more. Its funny cause when we meet people there like so how did you guys meet and they are like we worked at a surf camp for a while and thought she was funny and brought her with us!! HAHA. I tell people they just fell in love with me and weve been unseperable ever since. As much fun as the last week at spot X was, it weas really hard to leave that place. So many amazing people that weve gotten to know so well, aswell as new people arriving that we didn't feel like saying good bye to yet. But we took the plunge and left. It was a very emotional day and very rused. I had so many things to do before I left then all of a sudden then bus was leaving and I was running to it and saying my goodbyes. Hopefully not goodbye for forever because I really want to see these amazing friends down the road. I already have poeple lined up to come out to Vancouver! And I couldn't be happier. Louie plans to come work on the ski resorts after new years!! So wierd to be gone from my temporary home but it had to be done.

From Spot X we kind of last minute changed our plabs and did a little round about trip to Brisban for 1 night because it was the Mojo Snow Party. Everone dresses up in white and parties. I wore a 80's inspired costume... Head band, cool shirt that said Keep it real and white high socks. So fun.. There were people dressed up as ferries, bunnies, ghosts... Woke up the next day after 2 hours sleep and went to Byron for the day then off to Yamba.

Yamba is a really cool little surfers town which takes pride in the small number of people, not to many houses... They just want to keep it quiet and amazing. The first night we got there was tribal theme night for one of the people working there. So we put on our best of tribal clothes and stuck leaves and branches in our hair and smudged black makeup for dirt on our faces... Turned out pretty good if you ask me. We went surfing with Shane (owner of the hostil) the second day which was amazing. Tought us loads. And a couple days later we went with him again. The last day we went on the Shanes $10 bullshit tour. Pretty much the whole time he is winding you up for the 10 meter cliff jump that we all have to do, or he will push us off, the snake he pretends to pull out of a hole which is actually rubber, feeding what we thought were piranhas with our hands and a bunch of other things. He was such an amazing guy, so energetic and helpful. An amzing place all together.

After Yamba we headed to the Famous Byron Bay!! The first night we took it easy, still recovering from all the other nights. And friday Diede from camp surprised us and showeed up for the weekend to hang out with us!! So friday night we went to Cheeky Monkeys (some of you may have heard about this place.. known for its parties and table dancing!!) for dinner and many drinks. We won a couple jugs at our Mojo reserved table for winning the flag game (They say a country and you find the flag in the bar, take a picture and show it to them) And also alomost won the scavenger hunt.. Me and Cecilia caome 3rd and 2nd. Pretty much they name things and you have to find them and vbring them to the stage.. For example someones shirt, a condom, toilet paper, a straw... So funny... Managed to get a huge bruise from this game though. From here we went to Woodys then Buddha bar then back to Woodies. Fun night all together!! The next night we went to beach hotel met some fun guys and I had a dance battle with one of them. So fun. And the next day we went snorkeling at Julianas rock. AMAZING!! Saw turtles, soo many colourful fish and 2 sharks (harmless I believe) Just being able to see eberything in the water was such a cool experience. But im getting kicked off the computer so ill finish tomorow!!! LOVE LOVE

Saturday, May 14, 2011

This morning I woke up at 5:20 am to watch the sun rise for Lukes birthday. It was Luke, Tobes and myself. So we pile kn loads of clothes because it's freezing out and head put to walk to the head land. But when we got to the bridge the tide was so high we never would have made it across unless we swam. So we called it quits and went back to sleep.

The other day Diede and myself went to see what the waves looked like to decide if we were going to go surfing or not. There were absolutely no waves but we saw that there were dolphins out there so we ran and got our gear on ran and asked Louie if we could borrow her water proof camera and sprinted down to the beach. But when we got down there were no more dolphins so we paddled out back and just goofed around taking heaps of pictures. And Louie and Cecilia came out and joined us. I think I was out there for 2 hours without seeing any dolphins or catching any waves. By it was the best time ever.
I went back out the next day by myself and I get to the water and look left and that's where all the waves were and I looked right and that's where all the dolphins were. So I paddled out towards te dolphins. They were pretty far out so it took a while but once I got over it was totally worth it. There were four of them swiming around, playing with each other and swiming around me and underneath me. It was crazy they came so close I could almost touch them. I was just paddling around with them for a half hour having the time of my life. It was such a crazy experience!! I wish I had had a camera. Also o e of the dolphins was a baby.

Other then surfing we all went to the local bar last weekend on Friday for Emilys birthday and Natalie and Leannes going away party. It was really fun and we duct taped Tobes. Not sure where we got the duct tape but it was fun. We also have dance moves formlile everyone who works here so we all got up on stage and did all the dances.
On the Saturday we went to a different pub for Mr Northern Beaches. So pretty much a beauty contest with men!! So they were all prancing around in next to nothing! One of the surf intructors was in the contest and got second place. It was a blast to watch. Pretty funny. They were all oiled up and dressed as fire fighters, cricket players, cowboys, surf instructors and many other things.

Last week we also renovated GHQ (the place we live). It took us four days or like none stop work. So we took everything out, cleaned, painted, got new floor in the back upper area cause there were holes all the way through the floor, fixed lights, and cleaned the outside area. It is actually livable now and looks so much better then before. So me and three others had a to not fun doing that. We got rewarded by getting a waterfront for a night. So we had a girls night and bough tons of junk food and watched movies all afternoon and night. We had a candle light dinner and everything. We watched hot rod finally but all fell asleep so were going to have to watch it again. I think they are starting to understand all the quotes I'm always using from the movie now.

I updated my iPod for the first time since January. It's so nice to have so different music. I was getting pretty sick of having all the same stuff all the time.

On the 12 th it was Kellys birthday so I Skyped home and talked to them for a while. It was nice to see everyone and uncle Owen was there aswell. Kelly is coming out at the end of July to visit me for a month!! So I can't wait to see her!! It's going to be so Fun!!

I'm leaving this Friday to head more up the coast. Really excited but I'm going to miss this little paradise. "Life will never be this easy" as Jacco says. But I'm ready fir a new adventure and were going to try and get work at kroombit cattle station with I've heard is really cool. There's horse back riding, quading,  dirt bike riding, gun shooting, a mechanic bull, a bar.... not so bad if you ask me!! So hopefully that works out!!  I think that's about it for now.

Celilia, filipa and myself have booked our hostile for once we leave Here on may 20 th. Were going to Yamba for four days then off to Byron for a couple days. Were all getting excited to take off and see the rest of Australia. But at the same time it's going to be really hard to leave here. We've all made so many friends and it will make it hard to say goodbye. I now have so many people to go visit in Europe so may have to make a trip over there sometime soon. Also I'm going to do a road trip to alberta and visit Talia. So hopefully it won't be goodbye for forever and I'll see some of them again.

Last weekend was Easter. I was doing alm the activities with all the little kids I the camper an park beside us. Pretty much I was crazy busy all weekend doing face painting, treasure hunts, easter egg hunts, sand castle comps and soccer. It was really exhausting but tons of fun at the same time.

Yesterday I organized a kayak tour. So there were about a dozen of us. And we decided to go down this one place I hadn't gone before. There were these two guys in front of us and we were heading back and we had to go around a tree and I was about to say they looked like they knew what they were doing then all of a sudden they flipped there kayak. Oh man I was laughing so hard. I coulnt help it but they laughed it off aswell.

That's all for now. Love love love.

I haven't updated in a while so here it goes;

Two weekends ago some of us went to Byron bay for a night. It was great fun. We left at one pm and were in Byron at about 4:30. Bought some watches then went back to our hostil and got ready for the night. Cheeky monkeys was closed which was a disapointment ( it's known for it's crazy parties). So we went to the beach hotel and danced then to La la land, which is probably the dirtiest club Ive ever been to. Smelt like dirty feet. But we still had a great night. W ent home early j the morning the next day.

We also had out big summer festival. Pretty much there are heaps of people all having a good time. We did volleyball, slip and slide, jelly wrestling, had a gender bender party, and there was live music and djs. It was a pretty crazy weekend. Although I had a cold for most of it I still had tons of fun.

The other day I bought a surf board!! It was kind of out of the blue. The girls I'm going to be travellig with both bought one aswell so were goin to get lots of surfing In after we leave aswell. Hopefully I'll be able to take it home when I come  back. Take up surfing In Tofino.

The other day when I was out surfing I heard s wierd pfft noise beside me so I turned to see what Emily was up to, and I realized it was a dolphin right beside me swiming in The water. Only like three feet away. It was crazy. I was so happy and the dolphin was gorgeous. Still can't believe it.

Today is sunday funday. It's raining so were hidding out inside on our newly renovated beds. Haha. We pushed the two bunk beds in the back room together and made one really big double layer bed. There are only three of us that sleep inthe beds so it's pretty sweet. We were all cuddled up earlier today laughing and talking.

Other wise I've still been doing activities. I've taken a break from surfing because my ankle where the leg rope goes is Infected. So busying myself with other things. Going fir runs still. Not sure if I mentioned I helped a tutle cross the street the other day. It stopped in the middle and went inside it's shell and I did t want it to get hit by a car so I brought him to the other side of the road.

Oh and more exciting news. The other day Natalie, Filipa went for a swim. And we were out there minding our own buissness when two guys pull up to the beach with jet skis. So I was telling the girls about the places we used to go at home. Then one guy drives over and asks if we want a ride so I throw my hand up and say I do, I do. So we go out and it was soo fun!! Were jumping these huge waves and it was such a rush. Totally different seeing the ocean from farther out on  a jet ski then from surfing or on land. Makes me miss it from back home. I was definately in the right place at the right time.

Hope eveyone is well. Much love <3

Haha funny story;

Last night I woke up really early in the morning and was really thirsty. So I grab my water bottle take a big sip and decided I wanted another but fell asleep before I took another. Then woke up to me spilling water all over my bed. Probably a good quarter of my water bottle. Not a pleasant surprise If you ask me!! Lucky Cecilia was getting up for work and offered me her bed. But I still can't believe I did that!!

Today before lunch we went for a walk and on our wag back we saw a dolphin jumping around in the water by some surfers. I'm still waiting to be out surfing and them come up and swim around me. Although I did have a turtle swim by me the other day. That was pretty crazy. I didn't know what it was at first.

And something I forgot to write about the other day is that we did a night time kayak tour up the creek. All the kayaks fit two people but we had 3 because we miss counted. Anyways the guys leading the tour were talking about how there are bull sharks and all this other stuff.... Blahh blahh blahh. I figured they were just trying to scare the clients so I didn't get scared at all. Then where we were loading the kayaks into the water was to shallow so we had to walk a little ways. So were walkig along then Luke steps on soemthing and water is splashing everyone is freaking out and I'm like right next to him. It turns out it was a huge friken sting Ray!! By now I'm standing in the kayak and it's like hitting the sides and I though it was forsure going to jump in the kayak!! So scary. But we had to keep walking. So now all the clients are still in their kayaks and were pulling them through the water and I'm the only one without a flash light so I had no clue what's coming ! Then we get in deep water and since there are three of us the kayaks kept almost tipping. And now I'm scared because I believe there are these sharks. But we didn't come across any. Only more sting rays. And we also saw those things that glow In the water. Floss florecents or something like that. Pretty good trip and at the end a fish jumped into mathias s shirt and into out boat. And one had also jumped down bastions shorts. So funny. Had loads of fun!!

Think I'm going to take a nap in the hamocks. Love you guys to the moon and back.

Just a quick update:

So the other say we went jetty jumping. Pretty much like at white rock jumping off the pier. But it felt way higher. I counted to three went to jump but my body wouldn't let me. Four tries later I finally did it. Haha there were a bunch of us and we took the big mojo surf bus again. Afterwards we went out and got some lunch. Sushi!!! But it doesn't taste as good as at home. And they don't cut it up here. It's like an actual roll of sushi.

Today i just relaxed. They haven't told me when I'm seposed to start working j. Te surf shack so I'm just waiting for someone to say something. Haha it's kind of nice. Watched a movie for the first time today. Toy story 3. It was pretty good. Afterwards went for a walk with Cecilia. Then downtkthe beach after lunch with Natalie and izzy. I injured my finger surfing the other day surfing so I'm waiting one more day before I go out again cause I don't want to hurt it more.

Finally kind of got my voice back which is nice. It feels like forever since I could talk. To much screaming I guess.

No big plans in the near futur. We have a big festival happening here in 2 weeks so it's going to be hectic. So looking forward to it.

Love you guys to the moon and back.

Oh and I've cut two more peoples hair. Haha I have no clue why but they think o can cut hair now since I've cut jaccos. Thus time it was emilys and olivias. But it actually looks pretty good if you ask me. When I come back let me know if you need a trim ;) I'd be glad to cut it for you. And I'll have plenty of practise by then. I already have a line up for who's next!! Ohh man!!

Thursday, March 24, 2011

I am currently swinging in a hammock with flipper. Just waiting for it I come crashing down. Haha I'll tell you about that if it happens.

Soo in the past two weeks I've done so many crazy things. It was one of my friends birthdays ( Natalie ) so we went to the bar and had soo much fun. Before hand we all had chips and dips with yummy drinks ( which was nice for a change).

We also celebrated Mathias ( sven # 1 )birthday which was yesterday. We all jumped on the huge mojo party bus and headed to coffs harbour to the big banana for ice skating. Had a couple ( haha) drinks on the way down. Ice skating was a blast which we did in shorts and tank tops. Word of advise slip an slide on ice is not a good feeling. Afterwards we went shopping. Funniest thing ever when you've had a couple. All together an amazing day.

On Saturday we had a bin bag ( garbage bag... Man the words people use here) party. Soo much fun. Everyone dresses in garbage bags and drinks. Haha. We did a cat walk down the big picnic tables with music and strobe lights. It was such an epic night. The winner of the cat walk was halarious. And his costume didn't quite stay in place. Ohh man. Thought i was going to die cause I was laughing so hard. Couldn't believe the crazyness of the whole night.

Other more tame news. I've been working serving breakfast in the morning cause they are short staffed. So I'm there till the end of this week. Can't wait. I mean it's fun and all to serve bfast to people in the morning but waking up at 4:40 am is starting to get to me. Next week I'll be moved into the surf school for work and I'll be organizing activities out of there. So some changes but all is well.

I've been getting better at surfing which is such a great feeling. I can catch green waves ( ones that haven't broken yet ) now. It's just amazing when you catch that perfect wave. I dint think that feeling will ever get old. One of my friends said " you keep catching your first wave again and again. Once you catch that next wave that's one step bigger it will feel like that is the first wave you've actually really caught. " I don't know if I explained that right but hopefully you get the picture.

Still having a blasty blast. Loving life!! Couldn't be happier.  Love love.

Sunday, March 13, 2011

I've been working at this surf camp now for 2 weeks and it's amazing. Today was Sunday funday, which is where all the groms (staff) get together have a couple drinks and do some kind of activity together. Today we brought the big music speaker, boat of Ice and surf boards down to the beach and hung out all afternoon. We had some of the photographed that also work here take pictures of everyone. Heaps of fun. I was attemping to do handstands. Not perfected yet though. I'm hoping by the end of my stay here I'll be able to actually do one.

I've been surfing pretty much everyday and other then that just hanging out with all the amazing people here and organizing activities for the clients.

Right now it's 11 pm at night and I'm sitting on the bridge by myself under the stars. It reminds me of the cabin. Makes me want to go dirt biking really bad. Every once and a while I see people go by on there bikes an all I want to do is kick them off and take there bike for a ride. In hoping that at some point I'll get out for a ride.

Funny story... Just cause I think you guys will find this halarious:
So last night there were 4 of us girls hanging out after drinking in GHQ (name of our cabin). And I realized I lost my phone. So I take my flash light to find the piece of paper I had my phone number writen down on so Cecillia could call my phone. Then all of a sudden my flash light starts ringing. Hahahahahah only I could be using the flash light on my phone to find my phone. So dumb sometimes. Although I'm sure the booze weren't helping.

Another story ;
I was putting away the chairs after musical chairs one night and it started to down pour. I was soaked in less then half a minute. After me and Cece decided to go sing and dance in the rain. we then came back to our cabin and cece walks right into the glass door. I thought I was going to die cause I was laughing so hard. I mean the doors are always open here so I don't blame her and I ran Into after she hit the door so I would probably have done the same thing.

That's all for now. Love all!!!

Monday, February 28, 2011

So I am now staying at a surf camp. I organize activities during the day and night and get free accomodation, tons of food, and all te surfing I want. It's pretty much amazing. This morning a couple of us woke up at 6 15 and went surfing and watched the sun rise. It was amazing!!! We were hopin to see some dolphines but they didn't show up. I have seen one before though. So I am currently sitting in a hammock outside and it's boiling. It's almost 5 here. The wind is nice though. I'm pretty exausted today cause after this mornings surf I proceeded to go another two times. I'm really loving it. Got some pictures taken yesterday by one of the photographers here so I will try and get ahold of those to show you. I organized slip and slide earlier today and tonight here going to be playing drunken musical chairs. I still can't believe the luck I've had with my whole trip so far. Everything is falling into place perfectly. I've met a ton of people here. They are all pretty sweet. And all from around the world. I can't even distinguish one accent from another anymore. The food here is pretty great. There us tons of it. All I do is eat I swear! I'll take some pictures of the camp and put them up when I get a chance. It's a pretty cool little place and like a 30 second walk to the ocean. I went for a run down the beach the other morning. I was ping to today but I waited to long and it got way to hot outside. Today was difinately the hottestday here so far. I'm currently planning on staying for two months here but I may never leave. Seems to be a theme around here. By the picnic tables where we eat there are these two lizards that like to hang around all day. And whb your walking from one place to another you usually see smaller ones scater around. Aparrentlu there are tons possums but I haven't seen one yet. One of the other Groms (also known as staff members) caught one the other night. I can't wait to find one!! But I will resist the urge to catch it and keep it as a pet. Also around the place you see parots and of course many bugs. We justdid a huge clean up of our room cause it was so bad. I'm getting used to them though. Otherwards ive just been hanging out with all the people here. Miss you guys everyday. Good day mate !!

February 25th

So I arrived at Louies house (A girl I met through Kristine in the winter in Vancouver, Kristine and her met this past year in England) 2 days ago. Its so nice to be in a home rather then a Hostil for a bit. ver since I got to Louies she and her brother have been taking me out sight seeing and what not. The first day I got here we went to see the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship take off from the Harbour. I believe its the biggest one in the world, but I could be wrong. It was really cool because we got see the New guy named Mark Bailey and him broadcasting. We may be famous and on TV!! HAHA. We went to the beach and some other places just taking pictures. Yesterday I spend a good chuck of my time on the internet getggin things organized and posting pictures to facebook. It really takes a long time!!

Now for the big news!! Just before I was leaving to go to Louies I stopped at the Hostils information desk and started talking to Forrest (one of the owners of the hostil) I started asking him about getting a job at a surf camp and he told me his friend who works at Mojo surf had just called him the day before and said he was lookig for people. One minute later Forrest was on the phone with him and setting up thing for me to head down there. They are going to ship me up on a bus within the next 2 weeks and I will be working there for a minimum of 2 months. I wont be getting paid but I get free accomodation and food AND ALL THE SURFING I WANT!! Its soo perfect. I  will probably be cooking or cleaning or organizing events, not sure about the details. The camp is located at spot X also called Arrawarra right by Coffs Harbour. So lots of great things are happening and i couldnt be more thrilled! Love you all!

Could it get any better than this??

February 22nd

Yesterday I went on the Watson BAy watch. It was amazing!! So beautiful. I will put pictures up on facebook later tonight. I could't believe my eyes. Blue turqouis (no judging I don't know how to spell that word) White sand.. Waves crashing, sun shining. I went with the tour guide named Forrest and 3 others, Natalie Amanda and Chris. We decided Amanda is going to marry Forrest and I'm going to be there adopted daughter so I can stay longer ;) Just kidding. Natalie was going to be our maid and Chris gets to be the other child. Wierd I know but we had so much fun. Joking aruond all day. I was seposed to go find P Sherman 42 wallaby way (From finding Nemo) today but I think I'm going tomorow instead. So pumped. Today I went and was getting bank stuff and work stuff organized. I made my Australian Resume. Today it rained a little. I actually wore a swearter. I couldn't believe it! It was crazy. What else... I miss everyone. There are tons of funny looknig motorcycles here. SO old and ghetto. But I have to get off teh computer before it charges me more. LOVE YOU ALL!! ♥ My heart goes out to everyone in Delta with the news that just came out. Hope all is well.

Living the dream

I finally have gotten my voice back from the first night here, altough I did kind of like the raspy sexy voice. I'm still in in Sydney staying now at a different hostil. Its called Brados. Its pretty sweet here. Not the nicest place but its cheap and the poeple are great. Hanna and Raisa are here so I've been hanging out with them.  Yesterday we went to Bondi Beach. Its beauiful. Bright blue waters and white sand. Today I went back there with some different people. I met this girl named Tiffany and were gonig to go to Tasmania together in a week. She is taking off to Melbourn tonight and I will probably make my way down there on friday or something. Then off we go. We are thinking of renting a van and driving all around. Then we don't need a hostil cause we can sleep in the van. Ill keep you posted once we figure it all out. Tomorow I go on a walk around Watsons bay. I hear its beautiful. Tuesday I plan to start looking for a job. Ive been thinking working in a surfing camp or farm or on a sail boat sound fun. So i think I will plan around those 3 jobs and start heading up the east coast pretty soon. Sydney is great but I want to get out of the city and experience everything outdoorsie! Its really toasty here and I havent quite adjusted yet. Slowly its getting better. Hiking around with my pack is tiering but I don't have to all that often. So happy I only brought one bag. So many poeple here have like a backpack, suitcase, day pack and they are all so full! Its crazy. I would not want to be carrying all that around!! Love you all. I'll write again soon :D

Sydney

So I typed this the first day I was here I just never had the time to post it...

So I've arrived in Sydney safe and sound. The plane ride was long but not as bad as I thoguht it would be. On the flight from Vancouver to San Fransico I swear I was on the smallest plane ever!! But the flight itself went really fast. Once I got to San Francisco I walked around the airport for a while just wasting time and bought some soup. The next flight to Sydney I sat beside a gril named leah. She was very nice and going to Sydney for school in New Castle. From the airport I took a bus to my hostil. Or so I thgouht. There were four of us all doing the same proram who met up at the airport but of courseI was the only one bookerd into a different hostil. So i wondered up the road a bit and found where I was seposed to be staying. We walked around today for a while and found the opera house. What are the chances? They have this free bus here which goes down the strip. Great because its free. Woo one of the only things. It's so pricy here. I just had my first meal here and its 7pm at night. No more nomchies for Jessica. My hostil ad a BBQ of Kangaroo. REally good actually. Tastes like a combination of steak and deer. No judging. I had to try it. After the BBQ a couple of us went to scubar. Its a bar under the YHA hostil. Lots of fun and I ran into Hanna and Raisa. So excited to see them, I think I will be moving into there hostil tomorow!!

Getting ready for my many adventures in Australia!

Its finally come. The week before my departure to Australia. I have always dream't of leaving and going on the big adventure but it just recently became a reality. Even after booking the flight it hadn't really hit me. Now that my departure date is just around the corner I can really start believing that my dream is coming true.

My flight leaves Vancouver on February the 15th. I fly into San Francisco for a lay over then out to Australia. I land there sometime on the 17th. I know...LONG FLIGHT! But it will totally be worth it. Plus who doesn't love plane rides. You get to sit beside people you don't know, you get great snacks and its one of the best places to sleep, hands down! So should be a good time all round.

I am going through a program called Swap. It gets all your visas, flights and banking set up for you so that when you get there you already have a handle on things. They have a home base set up for when I get there. They give me an orientation when I first get there and through out my trip they have organized activities. Also at this home base they post all job and accommodation lists. It will also be providing me with 2 nights accommodation at a hostile, free internet at there home base and a mail holding. So really nice and easy for my first big trip away from home,

Now if you know me at all... I have horrible spelling. So my apologies but I'm sure you will be able to still guess the words (I'm not that bad). As well I have never written anything like this so don't have any high standards, but I will do my best.

I am traveling with my Ipod touch so I will be able to access the internet through WiFi and as well as hostels. So send me emails or facebook me. I also have skype! Feel Free to add me: jessicajanemcdonald if I am using my Ipod for Skype you wont be able to see me because I don't have a camera on it but you will be able to hear my lovely voice and I will be able to see your pretty face :D So it all works out.

I am going to miss everyone so much, but I will do my best to keep in contact. LOVE YOU ALL!
